Cantastic's Pay It Forward
Gary Stanley Crisis Fund
The Gary Stanley Crisis Fund is for anyone and everyone to apply for. We want to keep Gary's memory alive and keep his name giving back to the community.
This race will be held every year in his honor, applicants may apply year round and we will hold onto the applications until it is time for the race. The Cantastic Crew will select who we feel would most benefit. Also, if you know someone who you think could benefit, you're more than welcome to apply for them (with their permission).
Applicants must be in financial or medical need.
Cantastic's Pay It Forward Barrel Race soul purpose is to recognize and honor a great man. This scholarship was founded in Gary Stanley's name, for the purpose of benefiting anyone who is in need of medical or financial need, just as Gary would lend a hand to anyone who needed help.
Gary Stanley passed away to be with our Lord November 2015. Our Lord must've needed one hell of a cowboy and loyal friend.
Gary was diagnosed with Esophagus Cancer unexpectedly.
Gary Stanley was 68 years old, he lived in Central Oregon for most of his life, 40 years. Gary left this world loving his wife to the end, Mona, they were married for 46 years.
Before Gary retired he used to be a stuntman for Hollywood movies and shows, he trained a lot of trick horses as well for Hollywood. Once Gary was retired, he never stopped helping people of all ages. He was the type of man that had a hard time accepting anything, but had no problem giving or helping when someone was in need. He was always positive and always went out of his way for anyone. He was still active in the community to the very end.
He rode and team roped his way out of this world up until the very end. Honestly I think thats exactly how he would want us to remember him. You are still a great man Gary Stanley and have a special place in our hearts
